Wabo for business messaging

WhatsApp number link generator

Create a direct WhatsApp click-to-chat link for a phone number. Add an optional message that appears ready to send when someone opens the chat.

A practical way to manage WhatsApp customer conversations

A customer should not have to save a business number before starting a conversation. A wa.me link opens a WhatsApp chat and can be added to a website, email signature, social profile or campaign. WhatsApp requires the destination number in full international format, without plus signs, brackets, dashes or leading zeros.

Create a direct chat link

Turn an international phone number into a standard WhatsApp click-to-chat URL that customers can open on a phone or in WhatsApp Web.

Pre-fill a helpful message

Add optional text such as “Hi, I would like to know more.” The customer can review and send it; the tool does not send a message automatically.

Use the link where customers find you

Add the generated link to a contact button, website, QR code destination, social profile or sales material. Test it before sharing.

Free tool

Enter the number that should receive chats. Use the country calling code and number; do not include a plus sign, spaces or punctuation.

Your number is used in your browser to create the link; this tool does not send a message.

A wa.me link opens a chat; it does not send a message automatically. Make sure you have permission before sending business messages.

How to format a WhatsApp number link

A WhatsApp click-to-chat link uses the wa.me address followed by the full phone number in international format. Choose the country code in the generator, then enter the national number in the phone field.

Example for India

Country calling code: +91

Phone number: 9876543210

https://wa.me/919876543210

Enter digits only. Do not put the plus sign, spaces, brackets or dashes in the number. If your local number starts with a trunk prefix zero, omit that zero when using the international format.

Add a pre-filled message

A pre-filled message helps visitors start with useful context, such as asking about a product or requesting a demo. Wabo encodes the text for the link so spaces and punctuation work in the URL.

The message appears in the chat box; the visitor still chooses whether to send it. The link does not start a broadcast, send a message on its own or subscribe a person to marketing.

Where can you use a WhatsApp chat link?

  • A website contact or product page
  • Email signatures and customer support emails
  • Social profiles, digital ads and printed QR codes

How to get started

  1. 1

Choose the country calling code and enter the WhatsApp number using digits.

  2. 2

Optionally add a short message to pre-fill in the conversation.

  3. 3

Copy the generated link or open it to check that it reaches the right WhatsApp account.

This generator creates a link only. It does not verify who owns the number, send messages, or add the visitor to a marketing list. The number must have an active WhatsApp account. Businesses remain responsible for consent and WhatsApp messaging policies.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create a WhatsApp link for my number?

Select the number’s country calling code, enter the remaining digits without spaces or punctuation, optionally add a message, then copy the generated link.

What phone number format does a wa.me link use?

Use the full international number: country calling code followed by the phone number. Do not include a plus sign, brackets, dashes or leading zeros. For example, an Indian number 9876543210 becomes https://wa.me/919876543210.

Does the WhatsApp link send a message automatically?

No. It opens a chat and can place your optional message in the text box. The person opening WhatsApp chooses whether to send it.

Can I use the wa.me link on a website or WhatsApp Web?

Yes. Share it on a website, email, social profile or QR code. Click-to-chat links can open WhatsApp on a phone or WhatsApp Web, depending on the visitor’s device and setup.

Why is my WhatsApp link not working?

Check that the number has an active WhatsApp account, the country code is correct and the link contains digits only. Remove plus signs, punctuation and any trunk prefix zero from the international number.
